Volume 1 was classic Rollins, with hard-swinging originals plus a tender ballad that showcase his robust sound and limitless improvisational creativity. Featuring a quintet including Donald Byrd, Wynton Kelly, Gene Ramey and Max Roach. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is mono, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
