Marking a turning point in the band's sound and direction, Kaleidoscope gained widespread acclaim and went on to influence artists like The Cure, The Smits, and Radiohead. With singles like "Happy House" and "Christine", Kaleidoscope became their most commercially successful and critically acclaimed album to date.
